The Disaster Recovery Fund was created to provide a collaborative option for donors to help address both immediate and long-term unmet needs that arise during times of disaster. The intention is to provide a nimble philanthropic fund to supplement existing resources and services. The fund is flexible and responsive to meeting the needs that are otherwise not covered by existing programs. The fund is activated in times of local disaster, in consultation with local Emergency Management authorities. The Disaster Recovery Fund (DRF) provides grants to nonprofit organizations and charitable projects most often focused on reducing the economic and health impacts on vulnerable populations following a disaster, in addition to long-term needs that may arise. Donations made to the Fund help support community needs in disaster situations.
